Asia-Pacific Graduates Youth Forum on Green Economy

From September 25th to 29th of 2012, the Consortium for Capacity Building came together with multiple collaborative organizations to put on the Asia Pacific Graduates Youth Forum on Green Economy (APGYF) in Kathmandu, Nepal. This 5-day workshop focused on capacity building and knowledge exchange sessions, leadership exercises, and excursions to nearby environmental projects. The event brought together 40 youth who are engaged in sustainability issues from the wider Asia Pacific region.

The APGYF, funded through the CAPaBLE Program of the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN), further served to reinforce the joint collaborations and partnerships that have formed between the many supporting agencies.

CCB has worked with together with Small Earth Nepal (SEN) since 2009 on various research and outreach activities. At this year’s APGYF, CCB’s director, Prof. Michael H. Glantz, presented SEN’s president, Mr. Dhiraj Pradhananga, with a bronze medallion from the University of Colorado as a symbol of the organizations continued collaborations on research and capacity building activities on climate change and disaster-related issues.
